First Results for the Evaluation Procedure for the Future of the Gerling Development
On 22 June 2007, against the backdrop of the “Evaluation Procedure for the Future of the Gerling Development”, three urban development concepts were chosen by a jury consisting of the representatives of the city of Cologne, the Cologne city fraction architects and urban planners, chaired by the former councilor for building and construction of Munich Dr. Thalgott. The winners, the architect’s offices KSG, kister, scheithauer, gross, Cologne; Petzinka Pink Architekten, Düsseldorf and steidle architekten, Munich were unanimously chosen “on the merit of the high quality of urban planning requirements for the future development of the Gerling areal”.
At the colloquium on 9.8.2007 the city of Cologne voted that besides the three prize winners, the architect’s offices RKW, HPP and Kahlfeld & Kahlfeld shall also be commissioned.
