The Andreas Quartier - In Düsseldorf's old town

Social and private life in the new hotspot of Düsseldorf's old town.

Andreas Quartier Logo of Frankonia Eurobau AG

Whether guests, long-established Düsseldorfers or new arrivals - the Andreas Quartier has captured everyone's hearts in no time at all. There are many reasons for this. Or just one: Everything is just right here. But maybe it's because this new part of the old town is very similar in character to the "typical Düsseldorfer". Elegant, cosmopolitan, art-loving, open-minded and always ready to celebrate life with others.

A composition of
art, culture and culinary delights

From whichever perspective. At whatever hour. The interplay of magnificent historical and contemporary architecture, the small design details, the harmoniously integrated green spaces, the illuminated façades at night, the excellent restaurants and the personalities who come and go here. All of this creates ever new impressions and together forms a greater whole – like a precious stone with thousands of polished facets.

Sound and silence

How might one describe the “sound“ of the Andreas Quartier? A little gentle jazz, the murmur of lively conversation, a laugh, the barman mixing a new cocktail or uncorking a bottle of champagne. But there is another side to it, in the park that connects the residential areas. Here the quiet has its own idyllic, almost village-like tone: the splashing of the fountain, the muffled church bells and sometimes the quacking of visiting guests – ducks stopping off on their way to the nearby Rhine.

THE WELLEM - Hotel

There are several reasons why Johann Wilhelm of the Palatinate, known as Jan Wellem, became the namesake of the hotel THE WELLEM in the Andreas Quartier. The Elector was a lover and collector of art and immensely popular with the people; an equestrian statue of him stands a few steps away and his sarcophagus rests in the neighbouring church of St Andreas. With its magnificent historic façade and its interior hall, the hotel resembles a city palace. From here it is only a few minutes on foot to all the major museums, theatres and shops. THE WELLEM excels through timeless art and unique design as well as generous suites, offering its guests a magical and inspiring world – “The Art of Being Unique“.

The high favor of the location
More Düsseldorf is not possible

With the Andreas Quartier, historic Düsseldorf has regained a social focal point: a vibrant urban quarter worthy of the significance of this place. A place that matters to Düsseldorf, that always has, and that now radiates anew. With the Andreas Quartier, the heart of the city begins to beat again. There is no second location like it in Düsseldorf: right in the historic old town, next to the K20 art collection, in the immediate vicinity of the Rhine. An arm of the northern Düssel, the river that gave the city its name, even used to flow beneath the Andreas Quartier. The famous Königsallee is just five minutes away on foot. And once a year, on Rose Monday, the carnival procession passes right by. You will not find that anywhere else.
